The rear lighting systems of your car are covered. What has to be done?

In Germany, if the rear lights of your vehicle are covered or obscured—for example, by a trailer or roof load—you must attach additional rear lights on the trailer or load itself. This rule ensures that other road users can see your vehicle's rear lights clearly at all times, enhancing safety. It applies regardless of the time of day or the length of your journey. Therefore, the additional rear lights must be attached in any case when the original rear lights are not visible.
